The short answer: as of 2026-10-18, you can play Am I Nima through its free demo on Steam. The full game is not out yet; the official Steam page gives a planned release date of November 27, 2026 and states that the game is not yet available on Steam.

The demo sits on the same Steam listing as the full game, under a “Download Am I Nima Demo” option. You do not need to hunt for a separate demo page.

The Steam listing’s system requirements cover Windows and macOS:

• Windows minimum: Windows 10, an i3-4150 CPU, 2 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics Family, and 1 GB available storage.

These are the developer’s listed minimums, not performance benchmarks. The Steam page shows Unknown for Steam Deck compatibility as of 2026-10-18, so it does not give a Verified or Playable rating there.

What the demo covers

HO! Games’ September 5, 2026 Steam announcement describes the demo as containing Chapter 1 and half of Chapter 2 of the full game. A demo playthrough on YouTube gives a useful look at the loop: you inspect objects, collect words, combine them in Nima’s mind, and use the results as dialogue options with her mother. The player in that video works through the demo’s first chapter and reacts to the word-combination and conversation system; that is one player’s run, not a full-game route.

Full release and other platforms

The full game is scheduled for November 27, 2026 on Steam. It had previously been announced for October 8, 2026; the September 5 announcement explains the delay. You can add it to your Steam wishlist from the store page to be notified when it unlocks.

As of 2026-10-18, the official Steam page lists Windows and macOS system requirements and does not list a PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch version. The demo also appeared in person at Bitsummit Punch in Kyoto from May 22 to 24, 2026, at booth 1F-D27, according to HO! Games’ May 14, 2026 Steam post; that event has passed.
