Am I Nima Password: What Players Say About the Safe Code
Am I Nima has no login-style password. The closest thing is the demo's safe passcode, which one Steam player says came from the sashimi's name.

Short answer
There is no account, login or unlock password in Am I Nima — nothing in the game asks you to type a secret string to get into the game itself. If you arrived here because a safe in the demo is asking for a passcode, the only player lead worth knowing is this: in the Steam community thread “Just started this game, how did things spiral out of control this quick”, a player posting on 14 March 2025 said they opened the safe “using the sashimi’s name,” and then asked whether the game ever hints that this is what the passcode should be. Nobody in that thread answered the hint question, and the player did not write out the literal string.
So the useful takeaway is a direction, not a code: the safe passcode is reported to be a name connected to fish/sashimi, not a random number you have to hunt for in the environment. Treat that as one player’s reported experience from the demo period rather than a confirmed solution — the exact spelling and formatting are not published anywhere in that discussion.

Why “password” is a confusing word for this game
Am I Nima is built around a word-combination system rather than typed codes. You click objects to collect words, then merge them to unlock new words and new dialogue options — the demo walkthrough at Creeping for Scale Models describes exactly this loop, starting you with just “Nima” and “Stranger.” Because progress is gated by having the right word, players often describe a blocked puzzle as “needing the password,” when what they actually need is a specific combination.
The same Steam thread is full of those combinations, posted by players during the March–September 2025 demo period:
- Life + Fossil = Obsession — given by EddyLovesMarcy on 26 September 2025 in reply to someone who could not find it.
- Nima + Mimic = Parasite, Dad + Old = Death, Mom + Age = Fear, Pearl + Friend (and Pearl + Body or Age giving “Old”) — collected by valrossenOliver on 7 April 2025.
- Poison + Mind = Video Games — luke.alford’s favourite, posted 9 April 2025.
These are word recipes, not passcodes. If your stuck point is a locked container rather than a dialogue option, the safe lead above is the one to follow.
Scope and version limits
Both the walkthrough and the Steam thread describe the demo, not a finished release. The Creeping for Scale Models playthrough was published 7 March 2025 and ends at the demo’s basement/bedroom sequence; it covers the diary scribbles, the shark plush, the fossil and the closing scene, and it does not mention any password prompt at all. The Steam thread’s original post is dated 14 March 2025 and the replies run through late September 2025, with no build number given. If you are playing a later or full version and the safe behaves differently, the March 2025 report may simply no longer describe what you are looking at.

If the passcode will not go through
Nothing in the thread documents whether the safe’s entry field is case-sensitive, whether it accepts partial names, or whether spaces matter. If a first attempt with the fish name fails, the reasonable things to try are matching the spelling exactly as it appears in the game’s own text and checking the diary and object descriptions for the form the game itself uses. That is general troubleshooting, not a confirmed quirk of the puzzle.
