The full version of Am I Nima is not out as of 2026-10-18, but it has a firm date: the official Steam page lists a release of November 27, 2026, and the same page offers a free demo to play in the meantime. So there is news on the full release — the date exists, it was announced publicly, and it moved once before settling on November.

The release date, and why it moved

HO! Games first announced October 8, 2026 as the launch date during the Story Rich Showcase, in a Steam post dated June 6, 2026. On September 5, 2026 the studio published "Update on Am I Nima's release date and peek into development," moving the game to November 27, 2026 so the team could keep polishing, testing and bug fixing. Both posts are on the game's Steam Community hub. The Steam listing names HO! Games as developer and HO! Games with Outersloth as publishers.

The same store page states that the game is not yet available to buy as of 2026-10-18, so the demo is the only way to play it right now.

What the full game is set to include

The September 2026 developer update describes the finished game as substantially larger than the demo:

  • Five environments to explore, containing more than 300 inspectable objects, with some areas split into multiple rooms and some hiding extra secrets.
  • More than 15 tests across five chapters, plus seven additional tests for players who dig deeper. Some are as simple as answering Mom's question; others are more elaborate.
  • Over 150 main dialogue choices and over 600 optional ones, so conversations can react to many different approaches.
  • Over 230 unique words and more than 5,000 combinations, with new library tools: a favouriting system for a custom word list, an "Available Choices" filter that highlights words usable during a test, and a Word History screen showing the last 20 combinations.
  • 13 endings, which the studio says it isn't ready to detail.

The demo, by comparison, covered Chapter 1 and roughly half of Chapter 2 according to that same update.

What the demo actually plays like

A Chapter 1 playthrough video gives a good picture of the loop without spoiling the whole game. You wake tied to a chair in a basement, and your mother — who insists you are her daughter Nima — sets "tests" in which objects prompt words. You collect those words and combine them in Nima's mind to unlock new concepts, then use them as dialogue options. Answer in ways she disapproves of and the chapter can end with her sedating you and performing an eye operation, after which you wake up with the story resetting; the player presenting the video reads that as an implied loop and expects the full game to be about managing her trust while extracting information. That is a player's interpretation rather than a studio statement, and it reflects the demo build only.

Practical details before launch

The demo is free and downloadable directly from the Steam page. The listing shows English for interface, full audio and subtitles. Minimum requirements are Windows 10 with an i3-4150-class processor, 2 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics and 1 GB of storage, or macOS 10.9 with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM and 1 GB of storage. Steam Deck compatibility is marked "Unknown" on the official Steam page as of 2026-10-18.

Worth knowing before you start: the developers' own mature-content note warns of implied violence toward a child, eye mutilation, child neglect, and imagery of bugs, spiders and worms.
